SyncWatcher Icon & My Cat

Was deep in the zone coding, then got distracted. Decided to take a break and ship an icon for SyncWatcher.

Tried consulting with Gemini for some generative ideas, but honestly? The results were underwhelming. Needs more prompt engineering effort than I have bandwidth for right now. So, I went with the safe bet.

I have a freeloader cat at home named Coco. 10 years of co-living, zero rent paid, zero affection given. Just a roommate situation. But I wanted to blend a cat’s eye with a surveillance tower vibe—you know, “Watcher.”

Result? Too complex. Doesn’t scale down well. Pivoted to focusing just on the cat eye.

Mid-process, I tried to get Illustrator to generate a “Cat Eye x Surveillance Tower guarding a USB drive” vibe.

It’s… interesting? But way too busy for a macOS app icon.

Next up: Debugging the physical SD card detection and auto-sync logic. Must. Ship. Today.

Coco’s premium kibble isn’t going to pay for itself.
